The Metropolis Series: Part II, Scene II-I

PART II
Scene II-I: Spacing out 2008

Dipped in liquid time,
He stares.
There is (was?) meaning
in the loose leaves
of paperwork, and leaves
of grass growing
on these once rosy fields.
Underwater,
a bubble impenetrable
he sees the world
and the world sees him
but the world is a blur
to both himself and the world.
Retreating deeper he finds
hidden mazes and corridors
of psychedelic colors and hues
the color of the break down
He wishes to stop
but no one does
so why?
Dive headlong.

Snippets: A Realization

A Realization

The trench of himself, dug deep
Whose earthen riches unplumbed
Filled by murky waters
An island
isolated
alone
He sees
The world would rather have it
that way.

Snippets: Life is many things

Life is many things

The oceans flow
Not as the tempest
Of Charybdis engulfing ships
But as the road
From life
to life,
A cacophony
That alone you do not make.

Snippets: The purpose of anger and jealousy

The purpose of anger and jealousy

Is it worth it?
On, then off, like a switch?
Up, then down
that oscillating wave
of your heart beat
emotions beat
beaten by pain
bitten
a gadfly to your dreaming arteries.
Then stagnant
like water puddles
breeding mosquitos
Stung, sole reminder
That's the only time I'm loved.
